Material Density Guide

Not all cubic yards are created equal. Understanding the density of your materials helps you choose the right tier.

Heavy Materials

Fills WEIGHT before SPACE

These materials are dense. You will hit the 3-4 ton weight limit when the trailer is only partially full (often just 1/3 full for concrete/dirt).

Concrete / Brick
Dirt / Soil
Roofing Shingles
Tile & Grout
Plaster
Wet Wood

Light Materials

Fills SPACE before WEIGHT

These items are bulky but light. You can typically fill the entire 14 cubic yard trailer to the top rail without exceeding the 1-2 ton limit.

Cardboard Boxes
Old Furniture
Mattresses
Household Trash
Styrofoam
Dried Brush/Branches

The "Space vs. Weight" Balance

It's helpful to visualize the trailer as having two limits: a visible limit (the top rail) and an invisible limit (the weight capacity).

14 Cubic Yards (Volume)

This is the physical space inside the trailer. It's constant for every customer. You get the full bin every time.

Pricing Tiers (Weight)

This determines how much "mass" you can put in that space. Heavy tiers allow you to put denser items in the same amount of space.

PRO TIP

How to Self-Assess

If you can lift a full trash can of your debris comfortably, it's likely a Light/Standard load.

If you struggle to lift a 5-gallon bucket of your debris (like dirt or rock), it is definitely a Heavy load.

Ready to Schedule?

Choose the tier that sounds right. If you're unsure, our drivers can help assess upon arrival, or we can adjust based on the final weight ticket.
